Live from the Lavender Fields of Provence
French lavender is a sight to behold in the fields of Provence every summer - and a scent to be treasured all year round. In this special live French event, we welcome Elizabeth Seitz of French Affaires and Provence native Elsa Lenthal of Fuseaux de Provence as they demonstrate the lost art of 'les fuseaux de lavande' - lavender wands - which were used in times gone by around the house. Elizabeth first met Elsa years ago at a local outdoor market in Provence; she grew up in the hills near the village of Les Baux-de-Provence. It was summer and Elsa was crafting these colorful treasures from stems of fresh lavender and satin ribbons. Elizabeth was fascinated by the beautiful process, by the wonderful smell, by Elsa's devotion to this generations-old tradition, and by her charming personality...

French Connections: Before Flying to Paris, Get Travel Tips from Elizabeth Seitz
Francophile Elizabeth Seitz loves sharing her knowledge and passion for the French culture with Dallas travelers. Her France for Travelers workshop at SMU allows students to brush up on their French, learn French customs, and get transportation tips before their trips. It will be among the signature events of the French Cultures Festival encompassing Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas. The festival is a celebration of French culture coordinated by the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in Houston from March 1 to 31, 2020.

Central Market Hosts “Lunch in Paris” with Elizabeth Seitz
Elizabeth New Seitz, founder of French Affaires and self-confessed Francophile, led a casual presentation celebrating French cuisine and culture while the rest of us died and went to heaven. First, we were served a plat de charcuterie, which included a delicious wild boar pate with chestnuts. I am relatively new to French food and the idea of Foie gras de canard, but the duck liver was my favorite part of the plate.
