Our French Life in Victoria Magazine’s French Issue 2020

Bonjour France friends! I am thrilled and honored to be featured in this year’s Victoria Magazine French issue out on newsstands now! Un grand merci to Victoria Magazine, editor Jordan Marxer, stylist Marie-Paule Faure, photographer Marcy Simpson, writer Karen Callaway and the entire Victoria team for their wonderful work. Below are a few photos from the article giving a taste of our French life in the village of Courances near Paris… dear husband and I and our French doggie Marcel are delighted to share a little joie de vivre in the French countryside.

To see the full 10-page spread and other wonderful French features in this issue, you can obtain your paper or online copy by ordering at www.victoriamag.com . Or you can check your supermarket newsstands and local bookstores such as Barnes & Noble (if open right now). Our Marcel was in on the action and fun – he appears in several pages!

Merci beaucoup as always for following along here and on social media as I continue to share the best of France and French language and culture. And during this time of no travel, I’ll be posting belles photos (some good armchair travel around France) and be writing about this beautiful country in these pages. If you’d like to receive the blog posts / newsletter right in your email inbox, see the sign-up space at the bottom of this page. Meanwhile, my exquisite and personal journeys to France and rich French events and classes will continue as soon as we can all get out and enjoy life again. Stay safe ~ prenez soin de vous!

  1. Hello Elizabeth! I’ve been an avid reader of Victoria since it’s inception in 1987 (of course it was defunct for a few years before Phyllis Hoffman brought it back to it’s former glory.) I am a world traveler and have recently settled outside of Dallas, Texas. I’ve just retired from real estate, but last spring I toured the home of a lovely lady by the name of Carolyn New. I am wondering if that is your mother, perhaps? She had the most elegant home. Anyway, I enjoyed reading about your in Victoria and am now perusing your blog.

  2. Dear Elizabeth, Your website is so elegant and inspiring. I love France and it’s great to see such beautiful photos. I hope you can resume your tours in France after this COVID-19 crisis diminishes later this year. I hope to connect with you very soon.

  3. Hi Elizabeth! Miss you, dear friend! I am putting together a Burgundy dinner here in Houston and am on your site “researching!” Miss you bunches and hope to come see you at some point when the EU decides us Texans can come back!! xoxo

    1. Hi dear Marita! Sounds like a wonderful event…Happy to help – just let me know! Miss you too – must get together soon. Big hugs!!
