“My name is Sophie, and I am from Paris. Teaching my native language of French is my real passion. Prior to coming to the U.S. with my French husband, I taught French in Oxford, England, for two years and earned a Masters in literature at La Sorbonne in Paris. I am blessed to meet and give private classes to wonderful people who want to learn more about my language and culture. France is such a great country, with such a rich history, interesting culture, and … amazing cuisine, bien sûr! Every time my husband and I go to the supermarket, we go directly to the wine and cheese sections – I guess that is how you can recognize French people when they go shopping!
To me, learning a language is a wonderful challenge. It stimulates your mind and opens you up to a new and different world. It is an exciting journey, and it should be a fun one! That is why I always do my best to create a very positive atmosphere in my classes and lessons. And I always tell my students that they shouldn’t be afraid of making mistakes, because that is how we all learn best.
