Elizabeth New Seitz, Ph.D.
FRENCH TRAVEL & CULTURE EXPERT

Dr. Elizabeth New Seitz is a French specialist and founder of French Affaires, a company celebrating French travel, culture, language, and l'art de vivre. She first visited in France in 1983 and since that time has lived, studied and worked extensively in various regions of the country.

She received her B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. in French from Vanderbilt University with a specialization in foreign language and culture education. Her experience includes undergraduate and graduate teaching, presentations at national and international conferences, talks and lectures on French travel and culture, and organizing and leading trips to France.

After many years as a professor of French and a stint in the corporate world, she decided to share her passion for all things French beyond the classroom and to focus on that magical space where travel, culture and language intersect -- and so French Affaires was born.

Dr. Seitz’s specialty is a return to the travelogue -- illustrated lectures accompanied by personal anecdotes on all aspects of France. From special travel talks such as the "Best of Paris," "Paris Museum Tour," "The Spirit of Normandy," "Best of Burgundy" and "Best of Provence," to cultural lectures such as "The Spirit of French Gardens" and the "Art of the French Table," to immersions into French food and wine such as "Gourmet France" and an "Intro to French Wines & Wine Terms," her dynamic presence and enthusiasm for the subject make her lectures a true visit to France -- without the jet lag.

Dr. Seitz has given lectures to a wide variety of groups, companies and organizations including:

Dallas Museum of Art
The Dallas Institute of Humanities & Culture
Southern Methodist University
French-American Chamber of Commerce of Dallas-Fort Worth
World Affairs Council of Dallas-Fort Worth
The Dallas Woman’s Club
Junior League of Dallas - Garden Club
The Dallas Arboretum
Junior Group of the Dallas Garden Club
The Hockaday School
Highland Park High School
Pierre Deux
Central Market-HEB Cooking Schools – Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Austin

Dr. Seitz and her company French Affaires were featured in the Dallas Morning News in January, 2009
